The shoot, from which the image of the three horses set against the horizon came, was what started a lot of my recent projects off. I was recovering from surgery that removed a very aggressive cancer. During my convalescence I was looking for ‘gentle work’ to ease myself back into my day job. I contacted an old friend who manages the Stepney Bank Stables inner city riding school charity and asked her as diplomatically as I could if she wanted some new web images as the original website was ‘graphically challenged’ She said “what a coincidence we are just re-designing the website now” and we went from there. We organised a series of shoots to get all the horses and main school features captured and, with help from the web designers, the end result looked pretty decent. This then led to a feature in the renowned equestrian magazine ‘Horse and Hound’ who used a number of my images, and when my fee came through it was donated back to Stepney Bank, which I thought was a nice neat circular outcome!
