Down in the deep south (25 Nov)
An interesting weekend. Although the weather forced the cancellation of a winter fashion location shoot I was able to visit Nigel Smith’s extensive studio facilities in Hartlepool later that day by way of compensation. A very unique facility in the north east, Nigel has put together a good selection of ‘room sets’ along with the more usual and de-rigeur plain cove backdrops. The studio environment is spacious with easy access and parking etc. Nigel himself has a wealth of photographic experience and of course knows his environment inside out, so would always be able to suggest shooting strategies and techniques to beginners. I observed a 3 hour session, with Lindsay Luke under the spotlight, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole afternoon and pro studio experience.I also learned that a model I worked with recently has been successful in reaching the final 15 of the North East Next Top Model competition – well done Christine I am sure the images were fundamental to your success!!!
Bookings still continue to flood in, despite the inclemency of the weather, so very much a case of ‘no rest for the wicked’ over the winter season…..let’s hope the weather gods smile kindly on us for a change!
